YD's Diary #8 Equivalent Value of Life and Policy in ESG
When a person dies in an unexpected accident, we feel deep sorrow and commemorate them. Reflect on the emotions and mindset we have at that moment, and the value of life that we feel in that sorrow. Or think about the moment when a life was dramatically saved. How precious and valuable does that one life feel at that moment? Conversely, consider the lives that could not be born due to various circumstances, but could be born into our everyday lives due to policy changes. I suddenly thought that their preciousness might be similar. To explain in more detail, in the past, lives that would have naturally been born are now missing the opportunity to be born due to various social circumstances, such as delaying marriage and childbirth. I thought that if we could save one of the next generations on this borderline through policy, wouldn't that be as valuable as saving a life that was barely saved after going through hardship and crisis, or saving someone who unfortunately lost their lif...
