YD's Diary #17 New Report Philosophy : TRUE
After joining the company,
I spent 10 years diligently executing projects and delivering results I could be proud of—without regrets. Through that journey, I came to define four core personal values:
Respecting, Listening, Planning, and Assuring.
I combined these principles into a personal
work philosophy, which I expressed through the following statement:
"LISTEN closely with RESPECT, and PLAN Exhaustively—then you are going to ASSURE project success."
By my 15th year, while working in PMO on Risk
Management and reporting to executives, I realized the need for a new
philosophy. After a year of reflection and experience, I identified three key
elements essential for executive-level reporting:
Transparency, Exhaustiveness, and Assurance.
To express this philosophy—and as someone
who enjoys tea time—I embodied these values in my work under the concept of TEA.
Now, another decade has passed. With
broader experience across various roles, I have found searching for new meaning
for long time. This week, during the Leader to Leader session at Hanyang
MBA, I attended a lecture by President Chung, Yoo Sung—former
HR leader at Samsung Electronics and CEO of Samsung Total Petrochemicals and
SDS.
His powerful insights were like a storm of
wisdom, giving me tremendous energy and inspiration. It was a moment that could
only be described as extraordinary.
I add a link with honor the experience
and ensure I never forget who he is.

Through that moment, I discovered one more
value to add:
I realized the importance of asking myself—“Is
my report still valid as time passes?”
So I decided to incorporate the concept of time relevance into TEA.
I added Relevance, and replaced Assurance
with Understanding, to emphasize the importance of truthful and
meaningful reporting.
This led to a new concept I now keep in mind as I work: TRUE Report
TRUE
- Transparency
- Relevance
- Understanding
- Exhaustiveness
Leader to Leader Class, It was great time.
